Origin and Meaning of Yeonnam-dong
The origin of Yeonnam-dong comes from "Yeon" and "Nam." "Yeon" means "lotus flower," and "Nam" means "south."
In other words, it refers to the southern area where lotus flowers naturally grow.
The name "Yeonnam" originated from the fact that Yeonnam-dong was separated from Yeonhui-dong in Seodaemun-gu, meaning "located south of Yeonhui-dong."
